Principle: The biological desulfurization tower is an upflow aerobic biological filter. The dedicated filter media can provide an ideal living environment for the biofilm, which is enriched with acidophilic bacteria. Meanwhile, the gas flow can also pass freely through the filter media. The circulating water provides the necessary moisture for the filter media and biofilm. When the biogas passes through the biofilm, the H2S is dissolved and oxidized by the bacteria, producing a mixture of elemental sulfur and sulfate, which is then flushed downward by the water flow.
Process: The tower is an aerobic biofilter. Biogas enters and passes through the filter, and H2S is dissolved and oxidized by desulfurization bacteria, resulting in a mixture of sulfur elemental substance and sulfate, which is washed away with circulating water flow.
